All under one (dome) roof
Sports fanatics, dance enthusiasts and family fun – it is all happening at the Coca-Cola Dome. Not only has the Dome become recognised as an outstanding concert venue, it has also entrenched itself as one of the most versatile entertainment spaces in Johannesburg.
Easily accessible for special events and conferences, the Coca-Cola Dome is managed by Thebe Reed, an associate company of Thebe Investment Corporation. It has an experienced management team in place, making it the perfect venue to connect your brand to your target audience.
When Jeff Dunham visited the dome in May for the Disorderly Conduct Tour, the venue rang with laughter for two and a half hours! Dunham brought back old favourites for everyone to enjoy, and was the perfect antidote to the coming winter weather.
Recently the 2014 Reebok Crossfit Africa Regional competition was held at the Coca-Cola Dome, aimed at finding the fittest people in Africa amongst the exceptional athletes. It was a huge success, and with truly enthusiastic public support, we even opened our doors early!
“What a fantastic team at the Coca-Cola Dome. From the start of our event to completion everyone we worked with was professional and helpful,” said Cindy Hind, Event Director, Reebok CrossFit Games Africa Regionals 2014.
The 11 000sqm arena can accommodate any indoor sporting event from the Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) Africa and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to Equestrian Show Jumping. The Coca-Cola Dome provided the perfect venue for these exciting events.
Following the phenomenal success of the African debut of the world’s leading dance event, Sensation ‘Innerspace’ in 2013, we’re now offering dance enthusiasts the experience of Armin van Buuren’s new Armin Only Intense World Tour this weekend.
The family favourite, Disney on Ice, is back at the venue for the third successive time. Celebrating 100 Years of Magic, this sing-along skating spectacular starts just in time for school holidays, and opens on Friday, 11 July. Due to the success and popularity of the event, additional shows have been added. “The venue transforms from a dance floor into an ice rink. From scorching hot DJ’s and sultry dance moves, we’ll cool the venue down as we lay the ice for Disney – once again demonstrating the diversity of the venue,” says Warren Green, Commercial Manager of the Coca-Cola dome.
Whilst our very versatile venue is the forefront of the entertainment scene, private conferences were also hosted. In February, the Independent Field Advertisers (IFA) Clientéle Life Rally was one of the biggest events on the IFA calendar. We also hosted a one day conference for the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG) with 12 000 visitors who filled the Coca Cola Dome. From successful conferences to memorable banquets, this arena will change once again as we host the annual Flight Centre National Ball in July.
These are just a few of the highlights at the Coca-Cola dome. For more info on the exciting entertainment lined up for the next few months, visit www.coca-coladome.co.za.
