FlightSite Reaching New Frontiers in 2015
By Jimmy Victor
FlightSite was very proud to be named Africa’s Leading Online Travel Agency for 2015 at the World Travel Awards. This year was the fourth time in five years that FlightSite was named Africa’s Leading Online Travel Agency, having previously won the award in 2011, 2012 and 2014. More to this, FlightSite was involved in some exciting new ventures in 2015.
The company rebranded the Travel Latitude division to Travel by Investec. This division deals exclusively with Investec Private Bank clients, fulfilling the travel element of the rewards programme Investec offers their card holders. FlightSite also runs PnP Travel. Their partnership with Pick n Pay has allowed them to provide clients with a “book online, pay in store” offering. Clients can book their flights and bus tickets online on the PnP Travel website and pay the amount due at any Pick n Pay store. Pick n Pay are in the process of opening travel desks at all of their stores nationwide. PnP Travel will process all of the bookings that come through the travel desks. PnP Travel’s online booking system and travel desks allow customers to book and pay for flights, bus tickets and accommodation in-store.
FlightSite’s independent travel consultant (ITC) platform, FlightSite Agent, has partnered with South Africa’s five main bus carriers Greyhound, Intercape, Translux, City-to-City, Citiliner and Eldos Coaches to provide ITC’s with competitive bus tickets through an online bus booking engine.
FlightSite Agent was the official travel partner of Holiday Swap Kwa-Zulu Natal, a reality show that aired on SABC earlier this year. Holiday Swap is a reality game show where teams compete against each other to win a Dream Holiday in KwaZulu-Natal.
FlightSite is steadily growing into one of the biggest online travel agencies in Africa. The company is in the process of developing a new website with the launch date set for early 2016.
We are excited to see what the future holds for this exciting and expanding company.
