Never a dull moment at Travelex
As we’re moving into the holiday season, we, here at Travelex, are gearing up and getting ready for action so that we can ensure all our clients enjoy the service they deserve. The past six months have been incredibly exciting, and we’d just like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication.
Our first point of order was to relook and implement our Travelex Four Pillar Strategy. These pillars represent the following:
Pillar 1: Personal – Knowing customers and their needs, and strengthening 1-to-1 relationships
Pillar 2: Innovative – Investing in innovations to accommodate customers across multiple touch points
Pillar 3: Focused – Deepening presence in the market through utilising available business models
Pillar4: Efficient – Improving operations to ensure that more time and resources are used in support of customers
By implementing the focused pillar, we were able to conduct proper analysis of our branches as well as put an action plan in place for each store. Unfortunately, these plans indicated that certain non‑profitable stores had to be closed down, but it also gave us the opportunity to locate areas that are better suited to our brand and offer growth potential. This strategy enables us to “ensure a dynamic portfolio management of our retail outlets,” said Kananelo Makhetha, Chief Executive Officer.
In light of our findings, we had to close down three stores: Brooklyn Mall (Gauteng), Louis Trichardt (Limpopo) and Great North Road Plaza (Limpopo). But, we were fortunate enough to have opened three new stores Somerset Mall (Western Cape), Balfour Mall (Gauteng) and East London (Eastern Cape).
The opening of all three stores have been a huge success, and we would like to take a moment to share the Somerset Mall opening celebrations that took place on the 1st of July.
“It was a busy day, from the time the doors opened customers started streaming in. At various times there were even queues out the door, which confirmed the fact that this is a good location and the right mall for our brand,” said Lerato Mollo, Marketing and Communications Manager.
Thank you again for all your hard work; we just know that there is no limit to how far Travelex can go with a team such as ours behind it.
